Huddersfield Giants man Will Pryce has been backed for an NRL move by former teammate.
That ex-teammate is former Huddersfield youngster Dominic Young who has backed Pryce for a move to the NRL, stating that it would be an ‘x factor signing’ for the Newcastle Knights, he told the Newcastle Herald.
Pryce burst onto the scene in 2021 with the Giants, stepping in for the likes of Aidan Sezer with great effect.
However, Pryce was handed a ten-match ban for a tackle on Hull FC’s Connor Wynne back in March, with Giants coach Ian Watson saying at the time that he would learn from his mistake.
Since then, according to Watson, Pryce has put his head down and continued to train to his utmost.
Of course, the week of the teenager’s return from that hefty suspension will be the Challenge Cup Final – a game which resembles an incredible achievement for Huddersfield after a superb 25-4 win over Hull KR at Elland Road last weekend.
Watson, however, believes that Pryce does not just walk back into the team.
“You never rule anything out, it’s about picking them on form,” Watson said.
“The guys that have been playing hold the shirts, so it’s all on them to maintain the shirts.”
Watson did, however, reveal just how motivated Pryce has been during what he labelled a ‘mini pre-season’.
“Prycey has been training the house down, he looks a hell of a lot stronger and the good thing is he has been able to work on things and work on his game.
“Physically, his conditioning, his weights and he looks physically stronger – he’s been working on his kicking game and attack stuff.
“We will get a better athlete and player.”
