Huddersfield Giants look to have signed playmaker

Huddersfield Giants appear to have made a new signing after pictures of the club’s pre-season training were revealed on social media.

The Giants have already signed the likes of Tui Lolohea, Theo Fages and Danny Levi, but also looked to have added an elusive fullback to their midst.

That number one appears to be Olly Ashall-Bott after he was snapped – albeit in the background – taking to the field with the Giants as pre-season gets underway.

The former Widnes Vikings fullback joined the Giants at the start of the year on a ten-month deal, but question marks were raised over whether or not head coach Ian Watson was willing to hand the 23-year-old a new deal to extend his stay at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The diminutive figure of Ashall-Bott can be seen in the background with a red bib on and white boots as Luke Robinson engages the Giants players in handshakes after what looks like an intense training session.

Ashall-Bott made his debut for the Vikings against Castleford in 2018, going on to play 7 games in his debut season. In 2019, he joined the London Broncos and in 2020 signed a temporary loan deal with Salford Red Devils.
