Huddersfield Giants will be without Tui Lolohea for the rest of the 2025 Super League season, the club have confirmed.
Lolohea played a key role for the Giants at Hull FC last time out, scoring a try and setting two more up to help the club to a much-needed win at the MKM Stadium. However, the Tonga international picked up a quad injury in that game and that club have now confirmed that he will miss the final seven games of the Super League campaign.
It comes as a huge blow to the Giants, who are already without a number of key men such as Adam Clune and Sam Hewitt, while Niall Evalds will also miss the remainder of the year through injury following an extremely frustrating loan spell.
It has been a difficult season for Huddersfield all round this season but the form of Lolohea has put smiles on faces at the Accu Stadium. In 14 Super League appearances, the half-back has touched down for six tries and claimed 11 assists, with recent performances against Hull and Castleford Tigers being up there with his best in claret and gold.
However, Luke Robinson is now facing up to the reality that he will be without his first choice half-back pairing for the rest of the year, starting on Saturday when Huddersfield host Catalans Dragons.
A statement released on the Huddersfield Giants website, confirmed the news.
“Tui Lolohea has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season after sustaining an injury against Hull FC,” the statement read. “This is a huge blow for the Tongan International who has been playing some of his best rugby in the Claret and Gold.
“We wish Tui the very best in his recovery and look forward to seeing him return in 2026, Tui sustained a quad tear in the game, and will now miss the remaining Super League games.”
