Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson has revealed that he is confident of recruitment this week.
The Giants finished the season on a high note, with a 34-10 victory over Castleford Tigers in a game that was all but over at half-time, with a 22-0 lead.
However, it was a rough Super League campaign overall, finishing ninth again and bidding farewell to head coach Ian Watson.
This wasn’t helped by a key injury to Adam Swift mid-season, after which the tries seemed to dry up, despite some big early-season scores.
The big scores ended up in the hands of their opponents towards the end, with a 66-0 home defeat to Warrington Wolves the pick of the bunch.
Now, focus shifts towards next season.

Asked whether players such as George King and Liam Sutcliffe could be playing for the club next year, Robinson said: “Yeah, well fingers crossed, they should be good players for us if we do get them.
“When you look at certain clubs, they’re talking about 2026. I know it’s crazy, but they’re talking about 2026, but we’re still in terms of 2025 at the moment – but the players that we’ve got coming in next year, we think, will add some quality.
“Not only the good players but the good people as well. The good leaders – which there’s going to be a bit of a void that needs filling – because a lot of the lads that are leaving have got a lot of experience so we need some experienced boys coming in.”
Robinson was previously assistant coach, and taking the head coach role permanently means there’s a role to fill at the club.
Asked when there could be a new assistant announced for the club, Robinson said via BBC West Yorkshire: “I think it’s in the next week or so. I think, if he agrees. Might pull it off yet.”
