Huddersfield Giants boss Ian Watson reveals which club Will Pryce will be playing at in 2023

Will Pryce has quickly emerged as one of the greatest talents in the northern hemisphere.

After bursting onto the scene at the back end of the 2021 Super League season for Huddersfield Giants, Pryce has become an established player in 2022 despite a ten-match ban hindering his progress somewhat this season.

Having said that, the rangy teenager is more than capable of going up yet another level which is a scary prospect considering his youthful age.

So, armed with an incredible running and passing game, it’s no surprise that Pryce has been touted for a potential move to the NRL and to the Newcastle Knights in particular.

Newcastle HeraldĀ journalist Barry Toohey claimed earlier this week in his own podcast that Pryce had signed a deal with the NRL side for 2024.

However, Huddersfield boss Ian Watson, wants to see the teenager stay although the ball is entirely in Pryce’s court.

“Will will make his own decision, but Will is definitely here next year,” Watson said.

“His contract is up after that, but we have already started to look for a contract extension as I’d like to see Will stay over here for a number of years.

“He’s only young and they’ve (the NRL) got a lot of players over there who are in the same situation.

“I’d hate for Will to end up playing State Cup or Reserves and not really getting a shot in the NRL.

“Over here at the moment he is playing in Super League and if he can do a few years over here he will be a bigger commodity than what he is already.

“Will is a really level headed guy and he knows where he wants to go to.”

There are few genuine talents like Pryce who have such a mature head on their shoulders and it’s clear wherever his future lie, he will be a massive hit.
