Huddersfield Giants are excelling in 2022.
With a Challenge Cup semi-final on the horizon as well as being just two points off the top of the Super League table, Ian Watson has transformed the West Yorkshire side into silverware challengers.
But, the former Salford Red Devils boss did not have it all his own way in 2021 with an overhaul of that squad enabling Watson to bring in some new recruits.
One of those who departed was halfback Aidan Sezer, who is now plying his trade with Leeds Rhinos.
And, now Watson has revealed why it didn’t work out for the ex-Canberra Raiders playmaker at the John Smith’s Stadium in his second year.
“Sometimes in life people don’t see eye to eye in any job or family,” Watson said.
“What you’ve got to do is understand you aren’t seeing eye to eye and understand the best conversation to either move forward together or go your separate ways and you have to break up.
“I have nothing against Aidan, it’s nothing personal – Aidan had a really good first season at Huddersfield, but we didn’t see eye for eye for sure at the back end of that.
“But, you’ve got to be man enough to admit that.
“I’m happy with what I’m doing at Huddersfield and Aidan is probably happy what he is doing at Leeds.”
Sezer will not be in the Leeds side that will take on Huddersfield tomorrow night, having suffered a groin injury.
