Zak Hardaker will no longer be a Wigan Warriors player – that much is for sure.
But, his next destination is also unsure with a number of clubs said to be circling.
With Hardaker wanting to join a Yorkshire club to be nearer home, it remains to be seen where the 30-year-old will end up, but one place where he will not sign is at the Huddersfield Giants.
“We don’t have any space on our cap, but Zak is a great bloke,” Watson said.
“I know him through the England squad in 2019 and he’s a great player and we know how good he is but cap issues stop us from bringing players in.
“It will be interesting to see where Zak ends up, but the one thing you can say is he is a competitor. ”
Two clubs have reportedly declared their interest in him – former club Featherstone Rovers and Leigh Centurions, both of whom are desperately trying to reach Super League at the end of 2022.
Championship heavyweights Featherstone Rovers and the Leigh Centurions have joined the race to sign Zak Hardaker, who had his contract with the Wigan Warriors terminated earlier today.

Hardaker has made a name for himself in the past decade as one of the most talented players in Super League, with an ability to play both fullback and centre making him potentially vital for a number of sides – on both sides of the Pennines.
