Huddersfield Giants boss Ian Watson believes Hull FC are similar to this other Super League side and has his say on Jake Connor

Huddersfield Giants will take on Hull FC this Sunday afternoon in a mouthwatering Super League clash.

With the Giants currently on four wins from five games, they are one of the most in-form sides in the competition at present, though they will come up against a determined Hull FC who cast aside Leeds Rhinos last weekend with relative ease.

For Huddersfield boss Ian Watson, the Black and Whites play rather similarly to another Super League side.

“Hull are pretty similar in many ways to Castleford,” Watson said.

“Lee Radford has brought a few of the guys in from Hull whilst (Brett) Hodgson has brought a new way of playing and implemented some of his own beliefs in there.

“They’ve got a bit of a mixture of styles.”

One clash which a lot of fans are eager to keep their eye on is that between the opposing fullbacks – Tui Lolohea for Huddersfield and Jake Connor for Hull FC.

“It’s one for the supporters who have been looking at that,” Watson continued.

“There have been stats thrown around on Twitter, the difference between Jake and Tui in terms of try assists and running metres.

“But, it will be on the day and which team defends those individual players the best.”

The Giants boss also believes that the way his side are playing means they will have to raise their game even further as the season progresses.

“People will start to take note of us now – we’ve won four out of five and teams are now aware of what we bring.

“So we need to up our standards and make sure we do what we have been doing to an even greater level.”
