Huddersfield Giants bolster their social media presence in possible bid to impress IMG

Huddersfield Giants have announced today that they are going to be launching a Youtube channel in a bid to further engage their fans.

The Giants are coming off one of their best seasons across the last decade with a third placed finish in the league and a cup run that saw them edged out in the final by Wigan 16-14.

The addition of plenty of exciting talent in the off-season including the likes of Jake Connor, Jake and Jack Bibby and former St Helens’ man Kevin Naiaqama has helped show that they huge intent for 2023.

Fans are clearly impressed with what they saw last year and the prospects going forward as the club announced that they’ve surpassed 3,500 Season Card sales.

The club announced the news via their website as well and expressed what they thought the channel could bring to fans.

“As well as our own platform in GiantsTV, which is the home for exclusive behind the scenes content, as well as full-games and highlights for every Betfred Super League game, the Giants YouTube account will allow fans to watch shorter clips, wherever, whenever.”

This additional news regarding their Youtube channel being launched is something that will create a connect to the younger generation and could be a look ahead at trying to impress IMG.

IMG will take over the commercial aspect of the game and are potentially going to base Super League status on things beyond performances on the field.

Clubs could be judged on the grading system and other things including attendance and potentially even social reach, hence this announcement could have potentially been triggered by the incoming overhaul by IMG.
