Huddersfield Giants announce incredible travelling support for Channel 4’s live game against Salford Red Devils

Huddersfield Giants have been in incredible form in 2022 so far.

Not only have Ian Watson’s men made it to the Challenge Cup Final – where they narrowly went down to the Wigan Warriors in the last minute of normal time – they currently sit pretty inside the top four, ready for a title challenge in the Grand Final.

Though they are well placed to do so, it appears as though they are still perhaps struggling a little to get the big crowds into the John Smith’s Stadium, with just over 4,500 against Hull FC.

However, their travelling support is something special and over a thousand supporters are making the trip to the Salford Red Devils on Saturday for the lunchtime clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.

That is incredible considering the fact that it is lunchtime on a Saturday and that it is also being broadcast on Channel 4.

Huddersfield head coach Watson believes that what is organised for game day is as good as he is seen and that the atmosphere at the John Smith’s Stadium is terrific despite the numbers not being perhaps as they should be,

“One real big positive is the game day experience and that has been outstanding,” Watson said. “Going to Huddersfield has attracted more people and its for. us to keep them coming with word of mouth.

“The club in the way they have set things out has been outstanding. After the second game at home, Luke Yates said the atmosphere was brilliant and miles better than it was last year and that’s the environment that the club has created in terms of the pre-match entertainment inside and outside and it needs to be built on.”

Huddersfield have been one of the real success stories of 2022 so far and long may it continue for the birthplace of rugby league!
