How to watch Super League on TV this week with games on BBC

Since the start of the English Football League season, the way to watch Super League on TV has been slightly different.

The introduction of Sky Sports+ means not every game is available on Sky Sports’ mainstream channels – instead being split between the new service and the TV channels.

This move has been lamented by many, with the Sky Sports app – which has to be used instead of Sky Go for Sky Sports+ coverage – having stability issues when streaming, while NOW subscribers to Sky Sports and those with old Sky boxes are unable to access the service.

However, every game is still available from Sky Sports in some way, as was promised ahead of this season.

Round 23 kicks off with Castleford Tigers hosting Warrington Wolves on Friday at 8pm, and at the same time, Leeds Rhinos host Catalans Dragons in a game which could potentially be huge for both sides’ playoff hopes.

Both games are available on Sky Sports+, with Leeds v Catalans being on the ‘Sky Sports+ Main Channel’, while Castleford v Warrington is on SuperLeague+.

As usual, there are two games on Saturday – the first of which being a huge game where St Helens host table-topping Hull KR in another game that could prove incredibly important for both sides’ respective goals for this year – only on Sky Sports+

Later, Salford Red Devils, looking over their shoulder at the chasing pack, hope to get back on track against Huddersfield Giants.

This one is on both Sky Sports+ and Super League+.

London Broncos, in their usual Sunday slot, welcome Leigh Leopards to Plough Lane after both sides had big victories at Magic Weekend.

This one is available on Sky Sports+ and Super League+, but the final game of the weekend is available elsewhere.

Also at 3pm, Wigan Warriors host Hull FC – while hoping to avoid a repeat of the last game the two sides met – in a game that is available on Sky Sports+ and Super League+, but also via BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Red Button.

The BBC will also be showing a game next week, as a national audience will be shown a Huddersfield Giants home game live on BBC Two, at 3pm on Sunday 1st September.

Super League has also confirmed: “Broadcast details for Rounds 25-27 will be confirmed in the coming weeks, with BBC Sport also to provide live coverage of two matches from the Play-Offs on September 28 and October 5 as part of the three-year broadcast partnership from 2024-26.”
