Despite there being no Super League games on Thursday night, there is still plenty of rugby league action across the weekend.
At the time of writing, Thursday’s NRL game has already been and gone with Penrith Panthers having travelled to Melbourne looking to get back in the winner’s circle and help coach Ivan Cleary celebrate his 500th game as a coach.
The Panthers would go on to win that game and move back to the top of the NRL, snapping their losing streak, however, that was the only match on Thursday as there was no Super League clash, with the games instead packed over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday sees Wigan Warriors host Wakefield Trinity as Trin look to respond to two straight losses, whilst Matt Peet’s side can move top as they’re in action before Leeds are. Leigh Leopards also play that night as they look to take advantage of Wakefield’s recent defeats.
Saturday sees a full slate of NRL, NRLW and Super League action running from 3:45 am to 10:00 pm with Catalans versus Hull FC a Sky Sports exclusive pick in the 8:00 pm slot, not before two other Super League games that afternoon.
Sunday sees yet more action from down under in the morning before fans have to choose their afternoon viewing as three games kick off at 3:00 pm – Warrington versus Huddersfield, York versus Leeds, or a Championship alternative as London look to respond to their first loss. They will play Halifax with that game streamed on the Broncos’ YouTube channel.
