With ‘Frantic Friday’ set to determine the final Super League standings, it means that there are five games taking place all at once, making for an action-packed night of entertainment.
Wigan Warriors need to avoid defeat against Catalans and the League Leaders’ Shield will be theirs, whilst Leeds need to beat Hull FC and hope the French side do them a favour.
Leigh need to beat Wakefield by 28 points or more to secure a top four spot, whilst Warrington could slip to fourth if they are defeated by Toulouse and Trinity get the win.
Sky Sports has a ‘multiview’ feature whereby fans can watch multiple streams at the same time. It works for the Premier League, however it is currently unknown whether fans will be able to access this option on Friday night for the five games.
Super League’s Round 27 will take place over three days, starting with York Knights v Bradford Bulls on Thursday and concluding with Huddersfield Giants v Castleford Tigers on Saturday. Both of those games will be crucial for the wooden spoon battle, with three teams as it stands tied on 14 points at the bottom of the league.
It’s not just Super League who are getting to the business end of the season, with the NRL’s play-off series set to kick off this week. All eight sides that qualified are in action, with the competition’s top four battling it out for a bye week and a place in the semi-finals.
Positions five to eight will face off in the elimination play-offs, with the losers going home and the winners advancing to next week, where they will meet the losers of the games involving the top four.
It is also the final round of the NRLW this week, and whilst the Sydney Roosters have all but wrapped up the minor premiership, this week’s fixtures could decide who finishes where heading into the play-offs.
