Thursday 6th March

On Thursday morning, you can watch your first NRL match of the week as Sydney Roosters host Brisbane Broncos live on Sky Sports as well as the Watch NRL app.

The Roosters will start the season without key players Sam Walker and Brandon Smith as well as Spencer Leniu, who will serve a two-game ban

Brisbane will have the oldest halfback pairing in the competition as Ben Hunt returns to the club to partner Adam Reynolds.

Thursday night Super League action comes from Hull FC and Leigh Leopards at 8pm.

Leigh have started the season strongly, with three wins from three games, but could be without several players as not only did David Armstrong and Frankie Halton miss the game, Robbie Mulhern and Alec Tuitavake picked up knocks in their win over Catalans.

Hull FC could include new signings Liam Knight and Sam Eseh in their side as they look for their first home win of the 2025 campaign as well as reported returnee Liam Watts.

Friday 7th March

On Friday, there are two NRL games on in the morning as well as two 8pm Super League kick-offs.

In the NRL, Wests Tigers face Newcastle Knights at 7am followed by Dolphins v South Sydney Rabbitohs at 9.05am, the latter of which will be live on Sky Sports.

Wests have added Jarome Luai to their squad and Newcastle have rugby union converts Taj Annan and Tyrone Thompson to pick from in their 2025 squad.

Dolphins v South Sydney is the battle of the master and the apprentice with Kristian Woolf coming up against former boss Wayne Bennett.

Former St Helens halfack Lewis Dodd will miss round one for the Rabbitohs after picking up a one-match suspension in the Charity Shield.

In the Super League, Castleford Tigers take on Salford Red Devils, with the Tigers being without forward Jeremiah Simbiken for at least one match, possibly too.

Salford are also without Jayden Nikorima through suspension but the club have much bigger problems with the players refusing to train following unpaid wages for February.

The second game sees Hull KR travel to St Helens in the battle of the top two.

Hull KR could have halfback Mikey Lewis back but will be without Niall Evalds following a failed HIA test and also Rhyse Martin and Elliot Minchella are doubts.

St Helens have had a relatively healthy squad since the start of the season, with centre Konrad Hurrell still on dual registration at Halifax Panthers.

Saturday 8th March

Saturday NRL mornings are back as St George Illawarra take on Canterbury Bulldogs and Manly Sea Eagles host North Queensland Cowboys, with the second match live on Sky Sports.

The Dragons could be a force in 2025 with new signings Clint Gutherson, Valentine Holmes and Damien Cook and Canterbury will be looking for a stronger start to the season than usual, after winning only one of their last eight first-round matches.

Manly have veteran Daly Cherry-Evans entering his 15th NRL season and now the oldest player in the competition, whereas the Cowboys will be looking to celebrate their 30th anniversary with a win away from home.

Catalan Dragons v Leeds Rhinos is Saturday’s Super League game at 5.30pm, with the Dragons desperate to pick up their first points of the 2025 season.

Leeds will be without Tom Holroyd following his Grade E disciplinary grade and his tribunal is due to take place on Tuesday evening.

Sunday 9th March

The final NRL game of the weekend is Melbourne Storm v Parramatta Eels, with the Storm looking to go one better than 2024 by winning the Grand Final in 2025.

Parramatta have a new head coach in Jason Ryles, the Storm’s former assistant coach, and will be hoping his new signings Zac Lomax, Isaiah Iongi and Jack Williams hit the ground running.

With the two Super League teams returning from Vegas, they both complete round four on Sunday at 1pm.

Warrington Wolves face Wakefield Trinity, with the Wolves needing to get their season back on track following their less-than-perfect Vegas showing in front of an expected big crowd.

Wakefield will also be hoping to get back to solid performances following their defeat to St Helens last time out.

Wigan Warriors host Huddersfield Giants after Wigan’s superb performance in Las Vegas, with even NRL pundits applauding them.

Huddersfield are still without a point and this might be their toughest test of the 2025 season so far.
