Huddersfield Giants are one of many Super League teams doing it tough at the minute, with injuries decimating the majority of the first team squad.
It has got to the point where boss Luke Robinson is “sick of talking about injuries”, given how many the club have and how often he has to speak about players going down with knocks.
Huddersfield are the only side to not have a win under their belt this season, after Hull KR secured a 32-6 victory at the Accu Stadium on Sunday.
The side suffered four more injuries in defeat to the Robins, as the club’s injury total now sits well over a dozen players.
The Giants have a repeat of Sunday’s game this week in the Challenge Cup, as they again host Willie Peters’ side in the knockout format.
Huddersfield Giants predicted XVII after injury nightmare
Injuries are scattered all across the pitch, and starting with full-back, there are two players in that position who are sidelined. Niall Evalds and youngster Logan Blacker will both miss the game, whilst George Flanagan Jr could also be set for a period in the recovery room after picking up a knock in the act of scoring on Sunday.
Starting wingers Adam Swift and Sam Halsall are both out, meaning there were chances for Connor Carr and Tanguy Zenon to impress. The club do still have their starting centres, as Jacob Gagai and Taane Milne remain healthy.
In the halves, Adam Clune is out whilst Oliver Russell and the versatile Kieran Rush both picked up knocks in the KR defeat.
The forward pack will be missing Matty English, who was the fourth man to get injured on Sunday, as well as Joe Greenwood, Harry Rushton and Sam Hewitt.
In some positive news, Zac Woolford could make his return after missing Sunday’s game through concussion protocols, whilst Connor Wrench could make his debut after returning to the sport last week.
With all those injuries in mind, here is how we expect the Giants to line-up on Saturday afternoon – a game that can be watched live on The Sportsman YouTube Channel.

Zenon is cup tied. Land and Carr are injured. Woolford is also injured and Russell and Rush look available based on the most recent injury listing by the Giants but apart from that…
