“How do I tell the kids that this didn’t result in a try” – How social media reacted to last night’s rugby

Yesterday’s rugby saw Huddersfield claim a third league win in a row, Wakefield end their winless run and Hull FC silence Leeds’ famous South Stand. Or at least that was my take, but how did the rest of the world see it? How did social media react to yesterday’s rugby?

Let’s start with Leigh and Huddersfield. The Centurions produced a gusty first half but were eventually demolished in the second stanza by an in-form Huddersfield outfit. That left Leigh alone at the bottom of the league without a win and social media set about reminding them.

That said, some Leigh fans looked to the positive signs in the performance.

However, the contest gave birth to a fiery exchange between Leigh and Huddersfield supporters.

In the other 3 o’clock kick-off, Wakefield claimed a first win of the season at Hull KR’s expense. Many Trinity fans felt it was well deserved after some brilliant effort in recent weeks.

Hull KR fans however weren’t heartbroken by the lost. They recognise that they’re still on a journey and a long way away from where they want to be.

In yesterday’s Sky game, the Leeds fans failed to inspire their side to victory against a dogged Hull FC outfit at Headingley. Despite the loss some Leeds fans were pleased with the effort.

Speaking of effort, Carlos Tuimavave’s effort to deny Tom Briscoe was simply amazing and left twitter bemused.

The loss had Leeds fans questioning plenty of their players. Even skipper Luke Gale didn’t escape criticism.

Some even questioned whether their cup win last season was a fluke as things go from bad to worse for the Rhinos.
