Bradford Bulls missed out on Super League by a long shot due to IMG grading, but as they look to improve that, they’ve made a number of signings from the division.
The squad is really starting to take shape – so how may they line up for next year, including signings from Hull FC, St Helens and Leeds Rhinos?
How Bradford Bulls could line up in 2025 including Waqa Blake, Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC signings
Fullback: Tom Holmes
The Bulls will be pleased that their number one number one is back in 2025, having signed a contract extension.
The certain first choice in the position last year, he made 19 appearances in the RFL Championship.
James Meadows is also capable of providing cover here.
Wingers: Waqa Blake and Jayden Okunbor
We have a dilemma in this position, but it seems that two Super League signings who didn’t turn out to be as successful as was expected will be starting here.
Waqa Blake made a number of Super League appearances for St Helens in both the centres and on the wing, but it’s on the wing that he seemed most comfortable in and that’s why he’s picked here.
Meanwhile, Jayden Okunbor, who was playing at second-row last year for Hull FC, went on to be far more successful on the wing for the Bulls, scoring nine tries after making the move.
Jorge Taufua has also signed on for next year, but as someone massively capable of making big hits and holding his own in a more central position, it may be that he’s utilised as a versatile bench option.
Centres: Kieran Gill and Jayden Myers
Kieran Gill seems a certain starter, while 20-year-old Jayden Myers became a huge part of the Bulls side last year himself.
Guy Armitage, signed from Toulouse, will also be a good option in this position, as would the previously-mentioned Taufua.
Halves: Jordan Lilley and James Meadows
Plenty of Super League experience here, with Lilley staying on after experience with Leeds Rhinos – while James Meadows was a starter for London Broncos last year.
Front row: Franklin Pele, Mitch Souter and Emmanuel Waine
Franklin Pele, another signed from Hull FC, was usually brought on from the bench last year, but his form, which included ten tries, may see him as a starter under new head coach Brian Noble.
Mitch Souter is expected to keep his starting spot too, but young Mason Corbett signed from Leeds Rhinos may be able to push him for that place eventually.
After losing Eribe Doro, there’s a bit of a hole in this position, so Emmanuel Waine, who is more of a second-rower, may play here, although it could be that he moves into the second row and captain Michael Lawrence plays here, as he did at times in 2024.
Second row: James Donaldson, Keven Appo and Michael Lawrence
A big signing for the Bulls, Donaldson returns to the club after a decade away, signing after being at Headingley last season.
He is alongside the consistent Keven Appo, while Michael Lawrence will most likely usually remain at loose-forward for Bradford Bulls.
