Holbrook hails “fantastic” Roby

St Helens hooker James Roby looks on during a Super League game.

St Helens coach Justin Holbrook has lauded James Roby following his Man of the Match performance against Castleford Tigers.

Roby scored twice and was a thorn in the Tigers’ side as the Red Vee handed Cas their first defeat on home turf this year.

On a superb night for Saints, Roby was in magnificent form with a performance we’ve come to expect from the hooker.

“He isn’t just tough, he creates things, is fit and is a great guy who loves playing rugby league,” Holbrook told the press after the game.

“You can see that in his play – they are the type of players you need when you have a tough assignment like tonight.

“You rely on them and he was fantastic.”
