“He’s leaving no stone unturned” – Ryan Hall reveals new coaching methods of Willie Peters

Hull KR had a very up and down season during 2022 but ultimately they fell short of the playoffs which will have been their goal following a run to the semi-finals in 2021.

During that rollercoaster season they saw their veteran head coach Tony Smith depart, only for Smith to have now taken up residence on the other side of the city coaching Hull FC.

Despite this the Robins have recruited well on the field with players but also in the coaching department with the arrival of first-time head coach Willie Peters and star winger Ryan Hall has disclosed what life is like under Peter’s reign.

“It’s Willie’s first job so he’s certainly not leaving any stone unturned, he wants his team to play a certain way and he’s vocal on that pretty much every day. There’s a theme he’s trying to get through the squad.

“I think he’s going about it really well, you familiarise yourself with key words and your key actions which he drives every day, which in turn the players will eventually drive and that’s what the top teams are able to do. They drive themselves and head in the right direction.

“I’ve experienced it in the past before but it’d be good to hit the ground running in round one with the mentality in the right place and carry on throughout the season.”

Hall was making the comments in an interview with Super League sponsor, Betfred, with the full interview available on their Youtube channel.

KR find themselves in action on Friday night for former player, Craig Hall’s, testimonial game but they’ll lick off their season with a home game against 2022 Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors.

That game will be televised as part of Channel 4’s streaming deal and will be the first of ten games the broadcaster shows.
