Hellewell extends Broncos contract

Scottish international centre/back-rower Ben Hellewell has signed a new two-year contract with London Broncos.

With the Broncos succeeding on the field, Hellewell has become the latest name to tie himself down to an extended stay at Trailfinders Sports Ground.

Since signing for the club in 2015, Hellewell struck up a deadly partnership with Welsh international winger Rhys Williams before being utilised more in the back-row this year.

Hellewell told londonbroncosrl.com: “I’m really happy to have extended my time here, I love playing for London,”

“Another two seasons will mean I’ve been at the Broncos for five years, and that’s something I’m really proud of.

“It’s no secret that we’re a tight knit group, and I love being able to pull on a Broncos jersey with my mates every week and do what we love.”

London coach Andrew Henderson also spoke to the Broncos’ official site, expressing his delight that Hellewell has signed a new contract.

“I’m really pleased to have secured Ben’s services for another two years,” he said.

“He’s a solid and reliable player – performing week in and week out, and I feel he has improved and developed a lot, both as a player and a person, in his time with us.

“This is Ben’s third season with London and as a core member of that nucleus, we’ve retained for the last few years, he has played a pivotal role in helping the Broncos establish the position we’re in now.”
