Harry Newman posts update of injury recovery

Leeds Rhinos starlet Harry Newman has posted an update on his recovery from the horrendous leg injury he sustained in September.

The 20-year-old, who retained his place in Shaun Wane’s provisional England squad earlier this week, suffered a double leg break against Hull KR which will see him ruled out for over six months.

It was a huge blow for the centre, who had been in sensational form in 2020, scoring two tries and setting up a further four.

He had also delivered impressive numbers in other areas, racking up 53 tackle busts and 1223 metres from 148 carries this season, giving him an average gain of 8.26m per carry.

It’s an outstanding impression made by a player who’s into just his second season of regular first team action and while he’s unlikely to return to the field until Spring next year, his recovery seems to be coming on nicely.

Earlier this week he posted a series of videos to Instagram showing him working on different exercises to help build back up the strength in his leg, as well as keep the rest of his body in good physical condition.
