Halifax Women Promoted

Halifax’s Women’s team have been granted promotion to the Championship for the 2020 season.

The Blue and Whites only entered League One in 2019, and ended the season in fourth place. As a result, they went into the playoffs, although they were beaten by Keighley Albion.

Head Coach Martina Greenwood said “I am so excited with the thought of taking Halifax RLFC Women’s team into the Championship for the coming season.

“Having only been in existence for just short of 12 months, this opportunity demonstrates how much hard work, on and off the pitch, does reap the rewards.

“We are under no illusion it will undoubtedly mean hard work ahead of us but we are ready for the challenge. With the support of all the staff at the Club we know, as a Women’s team, we will all be striving to compete and develop even further this season.

“I am personally looking forward to a new set of challenges and cannot wait for the season to start. Bring on the 2020 Championship season for the Halifax RLFC Women’s Team.”
