Halifax unveil new signing in hilarious video

Yesterday, Halifax announced that Connor Robinson would be leaving the club to take on a new challenge after a brief return to the club he made his name with. But the Panthers promised that they had a new signing lined up to announce this morning likely to fill the void left by Robinson.

They made good on that promise at 9 am when they revealed the signing of Louis Jouffret on the back of a successful stint with Whitehaven in a truly bizarre yet hilarious video.

The mercurial half-back is an exciting signing for Simon Grix’s side and will provide the Panthers with real x-factor in attack. At former club SO Avignon he averaged a try per game and enjoyed a similar record in his first eight games at Whitehaven.

He has vast experience too having also played for Toulouse, Batley and Halifax’s Championship rivals Featherstone, he’s made over 100 career appearances despite being just 26 years of age.

A move to Halifax represents the natural next step in his career as he looks to become a key player in a top Championship side pushing for promotion. The move will likely bring the very best out of him and the Panthers certainly in the way of attack given his record of nearly 500 career points.

He won’t just bring something extra with the ball in hand either, he’ll also add great character to the Panthers next season and that character is there for all to see in the hilarious video Halifax made to announce his arrival which you can watch here:
