Halifax Panthers’ Twitter account has announced the capture of a Huddersfield Giants forward on dual-registration.
The dual-registration policy has often received criticism in the past in blocking other players’ routes to the first-team, but a number of sides have benefited from the policy.
Now, it’s the turn of Halifax and Huddersfield with the latter’s Oliver Roberts in Simon Grix’s side for this weekend’s clash against Workington Town.

Fax have won one game from three fixtures so far in 2022, losing to Batley Bulldogs and Widnes Vikings sandwiched in between a win over London Broncos.
Elsewhere in the Championship, David Foggin-Johnson has been handed a Grade E charge – which could result in a 4-8 match ban – after being sent off for the Bradford Bulls against Leigh Centurions.
The Bradford winger hit Leigh hooker Aaron Smith round the head and Aaron Moore duly sent ‘DFJ’ off the field in the last minute.
Bradford eventually succumbed to a 38-4 defeat, but the evening was marred by the horrific late shot on Smith.
The Bulls had held the Centurions to just an 8-4 lead at half-time, but Leigh, obviously buoyed by Adrian Lam’s half-time words in their ear, came out the blocks firing on all cylinders in the second-half.
Leigh registered 34 unanswered points to steamroll their way to an emphatic victory over their play-off rivals and make it two wins from three games on a lush surface at the Leigh Sports Village.
