Well, it’s finally been announced and boy what a time to announce it.
Jake Mamo will be heading to the Castleford Tigers for 2022 and beyond, with the utility back having signed a three-year deal.
The club announced it the day after he gave a special performance and post-match interview in Warrington’s drubbing of Wigan on Thursday night. But, just how did social media react to the news?
One Castleford fan was excited for 2022.
What a signing wow, him and westerman are amazing additions, looking like an amazing squad for next season🔥

Another Castleford fan expressed his delight after being impressed for so many years.
Great news, been a big fan of Mr Mamo's work since his Huddersfield days. https://t.co/M9uXjpZu9T

Former Castleford favourite Adrian Vowles also had his say.
I liked him before and I like him even more now. https://t.co/Vum0jXkX2T

Another hailed the impact that this signing could have.
Feels like a big signing this one!
Making serious moves for next season already 🔥 #COYF https://t.co/3F70f0qmYb

One Castleford fan was looking especially forward to the post-Powell era.
Excitement for the post Powell era is building! https://t.co/1UHk42fLL8

One Wigan fan had his say.
Why are Wigan signing Leigh players like Thornley and championship players? Cas will have a better squad next season than us at this rate. https://t.co/mkpt1tlKJ7

One Tigers supporter used a GIF to describe his feelings.

Warrington fans were bitterly disappointed to see him leave.
Really not happy with this decision by the Club. Feel let down by the Club in that they never listened to us fans.

Terrible terrible decision. How can you let him leave? Get rid of GI rather than Mamo
— Ste Quayle (@QuayleSte) July 1, 2021
Another Warrington fan couldn’t understand fans’ outrage.
Massively surprised at the outrage on here at this decision. Great guy, great attitude….. but great player? I dont think so. Being a nice guy and giving funny interviews doesnt win trophies. Good luck to him and i hope he goes well at his new club.

However, another Warrington said he would be hard to replace.
Poor decision in my view but hey we are only fans what do we know. He’s been our most energetic player all year – like his speed – nobody is close to him. Good luck Jake you’ll be missed

Another heavily criticised the decision.
