Greg Inglis gives honest assessment of UK experience

When Greg Inglis signed for the Warrington Wolves ahead of the 2021 season, optimism was incredibly high amongst the Cheshire club.

Here was a known superstar ready to come out of retirement for their side; however, the plan didn’t really work out and Inglis made just three appearances before retiring once more.

But, after setting up the Goanna Academy back in August 2020 – named after his famous goanna celebration – Inglis is now throwing himself into mental health awareness work.

And, he has now had this to say on his experience in the UK with COVID-19 and how to cope with it as Australians ask him how he coped in his time at Warrington.

“Expecting the unexpected; as COVID restrictions seem to ease in some states (of Australia), from what I’ve found over here in the UK, normal just doesn’t happen automatically,” Inglis said on his Goanna Academy Instagram page.

“Just take it slow and if you don’t feel like being around a big crowd – and sometimes I don’t – like a busy shopping centre, take time to look after yourself first.

“I’ve always said be kind to yourself.”
