The court case for Castleford Tigers winger Greg Eden has been thrown out, the Wakefield Express has revealed.

Eden was charged ABH (Actual Bodily Harm) back in May 2019, but has always denied the offence.

The Castleford winger – who recently scored six tries in three matches – was due to stand trial, a trial which was expected to start earlier this week.

However, the trial was removed from the court lists due to a lack of evidence given by the prosecution, according to Leeds Crown Court.

The flying number 5 has recently suffered a hamstring tear after a great spell, with head coach Daryl Powell confirming that it could be season over for Eden.

Castleford will be without the winger for Saturday’s Magic Weekend clash with Salford Red Devils as the boss looks to win at Magic for the seventh time in eight games.
