Greg Eden addresses if they have hurt Andy Last’s chances of getting the Castleford job

Castleford Tigers star Greg Eden has opened up on what is going wrong with the Tigers at the moment after they have won one game from their opening six and lost 38-0 to Warrington Wolves last week.

Eden said on BBC Radio Leeds: “It’s got to come within and probably a few senior players stepping up. Each week, it’s not as if we’re going out and not trying, things are just not going our way at the minute and it’s quite hard to put your finger on why.

“As you keep putting your best effort in its bound to change sooner or later.”

Eden also addressed whether or not the Tigers hurt Andy Last’s chances of getting the job permanently:

“I hope not. I think obviously it doesn’t look very good losing but then again we’re playing Warrington who are sitting at the top.

“I think if we can bounce back and show some resilience this week like he’s asking, some completion and certain things he’s asking for us in training.

“If we can do those things then we should hopefully make it a close game or give them something that they won’t expect.

“There’s a lot of boys who think he’s a good coach, me as well. I think he is but we need to come up with some results for him.”
