Huddersfield Giants have failed in their challenge to a three-match ban imposed on Joe Greenwood for a high tackle in Saturday’s defeat against Catalans Dragons.
An Operational Rules Tribunal approved the decision of the RFL’s Match Review Panel to impose a three-match suspension for a Grade C high tackle.
But the challenge was not regarded as frivolous, and therefore the sentence will not be extended – although the club will forfeit its £500 bond, with the £500 fine imposed on the player also standing.
Elsewhere, Whitehaven’s wing Lachlan Walmsley successfully challenged a Grade E biting charge arising from the club’s Betfred Challenge Cup defeat at Widnes Vikings. Walmsley was found not guilty.
All other bans stand unchallenged.
