Grand Final to remain at Old Trafford

The Betfred Super League Grand Final will remain at Old Trafford for the next three years after a new agreement was reached with Manchester United.

Now considered the showpiece event of the Rugby League calendar, the Grand Final has been held at the Theatre of Dreams since 1998.

Recent years have seen the event attract over 70,000 spectators and this year promises the same with Castleford, St Helens, Leeds and Hull FC competing for a place at the famous ground on Saturday 7 October.

Super League Chief Executive, Nigel Wood, said: “We’re fast approaching the 20th final to be played at Old Trafford and each one has delivered great sporting drama and first-class entertainment.

“Grand Final night at Old Trafford under lights is an iconic event that the sport should be proud of. It has been built from the foundation over 20 years to be an event worthy of the natural acclaim it rightfully achieves.”

Manchester United Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold said:“The Super League Grand Final has been held at Old Trafford since its inception and together we have witnessed some truly magnificent games. We look forward to more in the coming years.”

Tickets for the 2017 Betferd Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford (Manchester) on Saturday October 7 cost from just £20 for adults and £15 for concessions and can be bought here.
