Gildart faces three months out

Gildart injury

Wigan’s Oliver Gildart faces three months out with a serious back injury after the incident involving Brett Ferres on Friday night.

The Warriors centre was on the receiving end of a crusher tackle from Ferres and Shaun Wane confirmed today that he faces a sustained spell on the sidelines.

“He’s seeing a neurologist today. It’s a serious back injury and he’ll be out for two to three months,” said Wane.

“We’ll let the powers that be deal with it (the incident). My job is to get the team ready for Thursday.”

Ahead of this Thursday’s game against leaders Castleford, Wane also confirmed that Michael McIlorum is back in full training and he expects him to be back in the next few weeks.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gelling and Liam Farrell could feature this week with captain Sean O’Loughlin, Joe Burgess and Lewis Tierney all with a chance of featuring in a game over Easter.
