George Williams may have left the NRL competition under a cloud, but the halfback has not fully closed the door on a spectacular return.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Williams outlined just why and how the release from Canberra came so quickly after initially wanting to leave at the end of the season.
But, the England international also outlined that a return Down Under could still be on the cards, once the situation around COVID has been resolved.
“I would never rule out an NRL return. It’s just a matter of going home now and giving my family a big hug,” Williams said.
Warrington are in pole position to win the race for the halfback after former club Wigan waived the right to sign him.
