The Canberra Times has revealed that George Williams and Canberra have agreed terms for the halfback’s release.

Williams will apparently receive two months’ pay which equates to around $100,000 – a mere sixth of his reported $600,000 contract.

Ever since the news broke about Williams’ homesickness, there have been rumours about where the England international will end up, with Fox Sports fuelling the fire that he would be moving to a club on the beach.

However, Wigan and Warrington still remain in pole position to sign the 26-year-old.
