30th January 2020, DW Stadium, Wigan, England; Betfred Super League, Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves : Anthony Gelling (3) of Warrington Wolves salutes the travelling supporters at the end of the game

Warrington centre Anthony Gelling has been cleared to play again despite his ongoing police investigation.

The Cook Islander was arrested in Widnes on 8 February over an allegation of wounding with intent and was subsequently stood down by his club.

However, the Wolves have made Gelling available for selection again after missing the past four games and he could feature in Thursday’s clash with Hull FC.

The club statement reads: “Warrington Wolves can confirm that centre Anthony Gelling will be back available for selection this week, ahead of Round 7 of the Betfred Super League.

“The incident in question is now solely a police matter and the club will await updates on the investigation before considering any change in approach.

“The club and player will make no further comment at this time.”
