The 2023 Super League season is just around the corner and many people are putting their predictions together for it.

However, many are finding it hard to determine who will enjoy glory and who will struggle at the bottom.

This comes as Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington states he predicted that the 2023 season will be “very competitive” as he assessed Leeds’ chances.

“That’s what every club aspires to do, and that’s what we aspire to do. We are very much in a rebuilding phase, Rohan Smith has been here six months and done a lot of changes,” Hetherington said.

“We have had a lot of changes on and off the field here at the Rhinos but we’re looking forward to picking up where we left off after we got to the Grand Final.

“We’re excited for the new season, in what will be a very competitive Super League. It is probably the most competitive season I have seen. It will be really tight at the top and bottom and it’s really exciting especially for ourselves.”

When asked about young signings providing the backbone of Rohan Smith’s project, Hetherington said: “That’s the rebuilding phase in many ways. We have a lot of our own players who have come through the system as well.

“We have an outstanding crop of young players and that is the essence of any successful team so we’re hoping that will continue to blossom in the new season.”
