Gary Hetherington has said that Castleford Tigers appear to be “a club in turmoil” as Leeds Rhinos prepare to take them on at Jungle tomorrow night.
The Tigers, like Wakefield Trinity, are without a win to start the season and have parted company with Head Coach Lee Radford.
Speaking about the Tigers on the Rhinos’ YouTube channel, Hetherington said:
“Yeah they seem to be a club in turmoil. Results haven’t gone their way and they’ve lost their head coach as well so early in the season.
“I think we were in a pretty similar situation last year and we managed to turn things around. Castleford are also quite capable of turning things around as well.”
He also emphasised that though the Tigers are struggling that the Rhinos face a real challenge on Thursday:
“I do know as a Castlefordian as important it is for the town of Castleford when Leeds are in town, it is a big event and Castleford will certainly spark up for this.
“There is a lot of pride there and the team Castleford want to beat more than any other is Leeds Rhinos and they will get the opportunity to do that on Thursday.
“It’s our job to make sure they don’t succeed in doing that. I am looking forward to the occasion, to going to The Jungle on Thursday, it is a great venue, and I hope loads of our fans make the trip over and see us secure out third victory on the trot.”
