Gale one of seven changes for Castleford

Wakefield Trinity 24-25 Castleford Tigers

Castleford have made seven changes to their team ahead of Thursday’s Super League semi-final against St Helens – including the return of Luke Gale.

The Steve Prescott Man of Steel favourite has missed the last two weeks following an appendix operation but looks set to return for the showdown against Saints.

Gale joins Zak Hardaker, Nathan Massey, Adam Milner, Grant Millington, Junior Moors and Michael Shenton in the 19-man squad after they were rested against Hull FC.

On the opposing side, St Helens head coach Justin Holbrook has named both Jonny Lomax and Kyle Amor in his 19-man squad after the duo missed last week’s victory against Salford.

The winners of Thursday’s game at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle will progress to the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday 7 October.

Castleford: Hardaker, Minikin, Webster, Shenton, Eden, Gale, Lynch, McShane, Millington, McMeeken, Milner, Massey, Sene-Lefao, Roberts, Moors, Cook, Springer, Monaghan, Foster.

St Helens: Lomax, Makinson, Morgan, Percival, Fages, Smith, Walmsley, Roby, Amor, Wilkin, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Douglas, Thompson, Peyroux, Knowles, Richardson, Grace, Taia, Barba.
