Castleford Tigers star Luke Gale has pulled out of England’s Autumn Internationals with a knee injury picked up during Friday’s Play Off loss at Wigan .
Gale missed a large chunk of the season with another knee injury but had played 15 games on his comeback from the sidelines . Named Man of Steel last year , Gale was a key member of the England World Cup squad which lost narrowly to Australia in the final .
It will be a big blow to the Tigers half as he also had to pull out of the June Test against the Kiwis with the earlier injury . It is also a blow to England Coach Wayne Bennett as he is now without all 3 halves who played in the World Cup 12 months ago , due to injury and retirement .
A replacement will be called up to the squad tomorrow , England play France before a 3 test series against New Zealand over the coming weeks .
