Further update on James Batchelor’s condition

Super League

The Magic Weekend is a joyous occasion but sadly we all saw some worrying scenes at St James Park.

James Batchelor didn’t moved after a tackle inside the Hull KR half.

Credit has to go to Chris Atkin for calling for support immediately.

Batchelor has sadly ended up in an awkward position and has yet to move.

Ambulance staff have also come onto the field to help as they prepare to get him ready for the stretcher.

He was eventually stretchered off the field to a round of applause.

Our thoughts are with in at this time.

In an encouraging update from Sky Sports on Batchelor.

It has been confirmed by Jon Wells that Batchelor was awake and talking by the time he left the field.

Hull KR meanwhile confirmed that he was conscious and on his way to hospital.

Batchelor has had a terrific start to life at Hull KR and has been backed by coach Willie Peters to play for England like his brother St Helens star Joe Batchelor.

Now Jenna Brooks has confirmed his scans have come back clear at hospital and he is coming back to meet the club from hospital.
