Further concern for Leeds as another star player withdrawn

It is a cold and wet night at Headingley evoking memories of the last time they met a team from Hull.

That night, away from home on this occasion, the Rhinos were kicked to death in the wet by Hull KR on the back of a great comeback win.

So, after another great comeback win against Huddersfield Giants, what would similar conditions and a clash with Hull FC bring, the Black and Whites arriving in West Yorkshire after a 40-0 hammering against Hull KR.

Well as they went to test young Davy Litten at fullback they were given an early warning as Litten broke clear and was only denied by a superb Aidan Sezer tackle.

It was then a 17 minute spell of you knock on, we knock on before Leeds thought they’d crossed after a delicate Aidan Sezer kicked but Rhyse Martin was judged to have bounced the ball.

Sezer was having a very good game in the halves for the Rhinos as he and Blake Austin kicked well building pressure under cut by errors.

However, Leeds are now down to one halfback with Sezer going off with a Head Injury Assessment after a possible late hit after a good hit.

Liam Tindall has come on for his first appearance of the season, Ash Handley has moved to fullback and Richie Myler into the halves but Leeds’ kicking option could now be limited.

It didn’t seem to matter with Leeds going 18-0 up in his absence and he did reappear at the end of the half only to not return for the second half.

Later in the half Leeds’ star signing Nene MacDonald went off whilst Harry Newman nursed a bang to the head as Leeds’ right edge was entirely changed with Newman now on the wing.
