There are some famous shirt numbers at Leeds Rhinos such as the number 6, 7 and 13 shirts of course.
However, the number 10 is prestigious too with Jamie Peacock and Barrie McDermott former holders of the shirt.
Now that Matt Prior has retired, the Rhinos will have a new number 10, so who will inherit the number 10 shirt in 2023?
Zane Tetevano
Since joining Leeds Rhinos in 2021, Zane Tetevano has worn the number 13 shirt. However, at the end of last season, Cameron Smith cemented himself as the club’s loose-forward. Thus, he could take Tetevano’s 13 shirt allowing Tetevano to take the number 10 jersey after all he, alongside Mikolaj Oledzki, could be the club’s starting prop.
Tom Holroyd
To many, Tom Holroyd, alongside Oledzki, is the future of the front row at Leeds. So, could they confirm that and give him the 10 jersey? That seems unlikely due to the fact he didn’t play a single game for the Rhinos in 2022 due to injury and suspension. He is an option nonetheless.
Justin Sangare
Leeds have signed two props for 2023 including French enforcer Justin Sangare. The French forward has shone in the World Cup with great explosivity off the bench. He could be given the number 10 shirt but the prop is more likely to be seen as an impact sub and be given a shirt number to reflect that.
Sam Lisone
The other prop Leeds have signed is Sam Lisone who as a major signing from the NRL is more likely than Sangare to get the number 10 shirt but like Sangare is likely to be an impact sub and could again be given a shirt number to reflect this.
