The cost of living crisis is hitting everyone hard and in some cases where its incredibly severe people are having to sacrifice some living essentials which is awful to see.
Professional sports teams aren’t immune to the cost of living crisis but they can certainly help out their fans be it through performing well on field and generally lifting spirits, doing community work in the local area or even by offering some of the cheapest memberships available.
Newcastle Thunder are the latest club to come up with a fantastic idea to allow fans to watch the greatest game of all.

The provisions of the membership are that it cannot be purchased online, instead at one of their retail stores or via phone or post, and it must be purchased alongside a renewing junior member.
For those who are renewing and have either a friend or sibling who wish to get involved and exposed to the great sport of rugby league, then they’re able to do so for just £1.
Full details are on the Hull FC website, linked here, but the following information below details the offer further.
“All junior and family members who renew for the 2023 campaign will be able to introduce a new junior member for just £1 – an unmissable offer!
“It’s the perfect way to help get young fans into Rugby League, and help expand the Black & White family with some new fans of the future at the MKM Stadium in 2023.
“Whether it’s a sibling or a school friend, the offer is a great way to help your little ones introduce someone new to Hull FC, and spread the word about the Black & Whites even further!
“The offer, exclusively for renewing junior and family members, was first introduced ahead of the 2022 campaign, and the club are hoping to welcome even more junior members this year.”
Another brilliant offer to see rugby league for an affordable price as we head into 2023, in the same vein as Barrow Raiders distributing 20,000 junior season tickets to local schoolchildren and Batley Bulldogs capping all adult tickets at £10. The brilliant spirit of rugby league!
