Forward trio commit to York

York City Knights have confirmed Joe Porter, Jordan Baldwinson and Sam Scott have signed new deals for the 2021 season.

Porter signed for the club from amateur side York Acorn in 2017, and has continued to grow his name and his profile at the club.

The homegrown talent said:“I’m really pleased that I’ve been given a chance to continue the journey this club is on at the minute.

“Playing for my hometown team really means a lot to me. There’s no better feeling than getting to pull on that shirt on a Sunday and play in front of the home crowd.”

Baldwinson signed for the club from Wakefield Trinity on an initial loan deal in 2019. He helped the club achieve a third place finish in the Championship.

He says:”I’m over the moon to commit to another year to this great club. I really feel like I have finally found the club I can call home and I enjoy playing my rugby with a great set of lads.

“Everything about the club is great and I couldn’t think of another club I’d rather be at.”

Scott is in his second spell at the club, having initially signed in 2013. He left a year later, before rejoining in 2018.

He added: “I’m really pleased to have signed for another year. Once Fordy told me he’d like me to stay it was all sorted pretty quickly.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last three years.”
