Forward set for lengthy spell on sidelines

Newcastle Knights second-rower Tyson Frizell will spend the next 6-8 weeks on the sidelines with a syndesmosis injury, Fox Sports has confirmed.

Frizell left the field in the latter stages of the Knights’ victory over Manly at the weekend, limping off and he will now miss the State of Origin series.

The forward will be going in for an operation, meaning he will be sat out for almost two months.
