Former Wigan Warriors and St Helens star takes on surprise coaching gig in “massive coup”

Lee Gilmour is one of the best players in Super League history.

The versatile player was predominately a backrow and started his career with Wigan Warriors prior to joining Bradford Bulls prior to leaving for St Helens meaning he had played for all three sides to win the Super League at this stage.

In 2006, he was a treble winner with St Helens in 2006 and won three Challenge Cups in a row from 2006-08 prior to joining Huddersfield Giants.

After a two year spell thee he moved to Castleford Tigers and a loan with Wakefield Trinity prior to retiring.

That said, he did still play, for amateur club Shaw Cross Sharks.

Now his next step in his career is coaching with Gilmour taking on a surprise coaching gig with West Yorkshire side Brighouse Rangers.

They have played in The Pennine League since 2018 after time in the National Conference League.

They won the Pennine League in 2005.

Now Gilmour guide them in the future.
