Former Warrington Wolves star could be set for huge Super League move

In recent times we have seen former Leeds Rhinos star Kruise Leeming and former Wigan Warriors centre Oliver Gildart confirm moves back to Super League from the NRL and lately Ryan Sutton has emerged as a potential target.

Now former Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils star Ben Murdoch-Masila has emerged as a potential Super League target once more with Fox League reporting that he won’t be offered a new deal at his current club which means he will be free to negotiate with clubs over a move in 2025.

This will no doubt place him on the radar for Super League clubs.

He came very close to returning to Super League this season before confirming a new club for 2023.

It came as he rejected a Super League move with negotiations with Catalans Dragons progressing well and he was in touching distance to a return to Super League but ultimately he will be joining a different lot of Dragons in the shape of St George Illawarra Dragons.

“Ben is a quality player with great experience and he certainly provides what we have been looking to build within our forward pack,” said Dragons General Manager of Football Ben Haran.

“We are excited to see him join the playing group next week and look forward to the impact he will have at the club.”

The 14-Test veteran joins the Red V from the Warriors and has signed a two-year deal with the Dragons meaning he will remain at the club in 2023 and 2024 at least so any chance of seeing him in Super League will have to wait until 2025.

As for the French Dragons, Catalans they never did acquire another prop after Dylan Napa’s exit.

They will likely still be interested in the forward. Meanwhile, you’d imagine Warrington would also be open to bringing Big Ben back to Super League given their struggles with middles lately.

They have lost two overseas stars in the middle of the park in the shape of Thomas Mikaele and Josh McGuire.

That said there is talk of a brief Mikaele comeback as well as rumours of a move for Zane Musgrove.
