Former Warrington Wolves centre Peta Hiku ready for challenge after joining new club

Former Warrington Wolves centre Peta Hiku went under the radar when he made the move at the end of the 2021 NRL season.

After over 150 games in the NRL under his belt, the former New Zealand Warriors star was signed up by the North Queensland Cowboys which almost went unheard after the latter signed Chad Townsend.

Hiku, 29, scored ten tries in 11 appearances for the Wolves back in 2017 in a fruitful spell in Super League, but returned to the NRL following the culmination of that season.

Spells at the Manly Sea Eagles, Penrith Panthers, the Warriors and now the Cowboys have underlined Hiku’s level as an incredible strong and tough competitor.

And, at just 29 years of age, he still has a lot of life in the legs too.

In fact, he has been hailed by Sporting News as one of the most underrated signings of the season, with his work rate and determination on the field second to none.

Firmly embedded in to the NRL way of life, it’s unlikely that Super League fans would ever see Hiku in this nation on a domestic level once more.
