Daniel Holdsworth, meanwhile, played for Hull FC in 2012 after three seasons at Salford Red Devils (then Salford City Reds) and played for St George Illawarra as a player,

He was also selected for the Exiles in 2012, and retired after playing for Cronulla Sharks, where he is an assistant coach to this day.

The two were accompanied by halfback Nicho Hynes, who has played for Cronulla since 2022, and also previously played as a fullback for Melbourne Storm.

He has represented New South Wales in State of Origin as well as Australia, Prime Ministers XIII and the Indigenous All Stars.

The incident occurred last Sunday on a bridge between Wollongong and Cronulla, where there was commotion as people were pointing to a man on the wrong side of the bridge’s railing.

The man, facing a 135-foot drop, was yelling for his life to be over, but the trio of Hynes, Price and Holdworth saved his life.

Hynes said: “When I jumped out of the car, Pricey (Price) also jumped from his passenger seat while DJ (Holdsworth) began calling an ambulance.

“People were watching on, almost in a daze. I thought, ‘What the hell is everyone doing?’

“So I just ran towards him.

“I didn’t want to see what we could’ve seen (the man jumping).

“I didn’t say anything straight away. I just grabbed his arm so he didn’t let go of the bridge.”

They taked about the man, whether he liked rugby, and who he supported.

Price asked the man: “Do you know this bloke?”, pointing to Hynes, and the man said: “Oh, Nicho Hynes”.

They then managed to get him back the other side of the railing.

They took him to the car, and Price added: “I was in the back seat with him and just told him that he’s just met three new mates.”
