Former Wakefield Trinity & Bradford Bulls man open to Super League return as he reveals ex-St Helens coach had big impact on him

Ben Jeffries moved to Super League in 2002 having made 28 NRL appearances for St George Illawarra Dragons and Wests Tigers.

He joined Wakefield in 2002 and was part of their great escape in 2006 prior to leaving the club at the end of 2007 to join Bradford Bulls.

After two seasons there, he returned to Wakefield but after another two season stint it was back to Bradford for another two seasons.

He made over 250 Super League appearances scoring 100 tries for the two clubs.

Since then he’s been working in coaching even in the Rugby League World Cup and in the UK he appearance on BBC Radio Leeds in which he revealed he would be open to coaching in Super League: “Yes and no, at the moment I’m very happy where I am at but I loved playing here.

“Do I have a passion to come back? I’d love to come back. Does my wife want to come back, she loved every minute of it here, but whether she sees herself coming back that’s another question for another day.”

He also revealed that former Catalans Dragons, St Helens and Bradford Bulls coach Mick Potter had a big influence on his decision to become a coach: “Mick Potter had the biggest influence on me and he said ‘Have you thought about coaching because I think you have the traits to be a coach.'”
