Recently released Widnes Vikings forward Sam Brooks has joined Qualifiers-bound Featherstone Rovers.
The Scotland international has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season and the ex Whitehaven and Bradford Bulls front-rower will be a good addition to an already strong pack of forwards.
Brooks played for Scotland in the 2016 Four Nations but was unable to nail down a starting spot in the Vikings squad, making just six appearances this season.
Talking to the Featherstone website, Brooks said: “After leaving Widnes, where I wasn’t getting the game-time I needed to progress my career, Featherstone was without doubt the most attractive proposition for me,”
“I had offers from several other clubs but this was where I wanted to me.
“Featherstone have a great squad and I reckon they are going to shake up the Qualifiers, so coming here was a no-brainer for me.”
